Admissions Requirements

We admit students based on a combination of academic and personal factors.

For the class of 2029, CUNY standardized tests (SAT & ACT) will be optional. Here is the link to the CUNY’s website for additional information: https://www.cuny.edu/academics/testing/testing-faqs/

Macaulay Honors College seeks to admit students with leadership potential who are high achievers, intellectually curious, creative, and highly motivated.

In addition to academic performance, we evaluate prospective students using a combination of academic and personal factors, including:

We accept applications from first-time college students (incoming Freshmen) and transfer students who are enrolled in an associate degree program at a CUNY community college.

If you applied but were not accepted to Macaulay in the past, and have not attended any other post-secondary institutions, you may apply again (except for Queens College applicants, who may not re-apply). Be sure to submit additional information and experiences that you believe make you a better candidate for admission to Macaulay.

Applicants with high school credentials and/or diplomas from any non-public correspondence school, including home-school, online school, or virtual high school, please visit the CUNY website for additional requirements.
